Converting to Leventa®
Converting a dog from tablets to Leventa is easy. Simply administer the original dose SID as Leventa instead of BID. For example if a 50 lb dog was receiving 0.5 mg of a tablet formulation BID, administer 0.5 mL of Leventa SID.
As when converting to any new medication, there may be individual animal variations in the absorption of L-thyroxine in tablet form vs. liquid form. The T4 should be re-evaluated in 4 weeks after the initiation of treatment with Leventa.
